Demystifying the 4Cs
Make confident, educated wholesale acquisitions. Learn how Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat weight shape a diamond's beauty, value, and fire.
Why Cut is the Most Critical "C"
Cut is not the diamond's shape, but how well its facets interact with light. An ideal cut maximizes **brilliance** (white light reflection), **fire** (rainbow color flashes), and **scintillation** (sparkle when moved).
Ideal / Excellent Cut
Light enters from the top, reflects off internal facets, and returns directly through the crown to the eye, giving maximum brilliance.
Too Shallow or Too Deep
Light leaks out from the sides or bottom of the pavilion. The diamond appears lifeless, dark, or lacks sparkle.
